Where did you go to school?

I went to Florida State University and got my bachelor's of science in biochemistry. Then, I went to veterinary school. I did one year at Ross University down in the Caribbean and then transferred to Oklahoma State University to finish my last three years of veterinary school. Go Cowboys!

What did you do after veterinary school?

I did a small animal rotating internship at Blue Pearl in Louisville, Kentucky, for one year. Then, I was in general practice at some small animal practices in Gainesville, Florida, before pursuing owning my own practice, which led me to Paw Haven in Winter Haven.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I really love interacting with my staff and what we have created at PawHaven. Growing and being part of this little community is fulfilling. I truly enjoy meeting everyone's pets and keeping them happy and healthy.

What kind of personal hobbies and interests do you have?

Most of my free time revolves around my children, who are three and six. I have a three-year-old son named Logan and a six-year-old daughter named Finley. We also have a four-year-old golden retriever named Ellie. We are currently working on a large puzzle at home, but we spend most of our free time at parks, walking in nature, and traveling when we can.

What are some of your favorite things about vet care here?

I truly love being able to take care of people's family members. Many of us consider our pets as family, and it’s special for me to ensure they are happy and comfortable throughout their lives.

What type of certifications do you have?

I have an additional certification in small animal ultrasound, which I received from the Sound Academy about two years ago. It took me almost a year to achieve, but it has taught me so much about small animal ultrasound, specifically the abdomen. This certification has allowed us to provide more extensive care in internal medicine, keeping more complicated cases in-house. It has been life-changing for my practice as a veterinarian.

Is there anything else that you want us to know about you?

I am a Central Florida native, having grown up in Lakeland, Florida, since I was about five years old. Coming back here was unexpected, but I am very happy to be here. I look forward to raising my children and enjoying what Florida has to offer. I really love practicing here and seeing everyone every day.
