Dr. Sutton graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine with interests in surgery, dermatology, and behavior. He is originally from the Midwest and made the journey to central Florida to enjoy the sunshine with his wife and two children.
Why did you choose this profession?
I didn't really know that I wanted to do that until about halfway through college. I volunteered at a small animal shelter, and I fell in love with veterinary medicine so much that I switched my degree from engineering to animal sciences, and that's kind of how I got into the profession.
Favorite part of your job?
Probably the animals. I love being around the animals. I love meeting new people, but probably my favorite things would be surgery related. I very much enjoy surgery, especially dentistry. I just like having the ability to help an animal immediately that day with things that you can do with surgery or dentistry.
What are your personal hobbies and interests?
I'm really into sports. I really like football. I'm very much into the NFL, college football, college basketball. I have two children who are also involved in sports. They play soccer and baseball, so I love hanging out with them and doing those kinds of things. We also love going to the beaches. There are so many around Florida amusement parks.
